Legend of the White Snake, the old folk tale on five reels

Plenty of Malaysians grew up with the White Snake story on television: a snake spirit becomes a woman, falls for a gentle scholar at West Lake, and a stubborn monk spends the rest of the tale trying to split them up. This Live22 slot doesn't retell the plot, but almost every picture on its reels is lifted from it. That makes it one of the better-themed games in the Live22 lobby, whatever you think of the maths.
Reading the symbols
The frame is the first clue. A white snake coils up the left pillar and a green one up the right, for Bai Suzhen and her sister Xiaoqing. Behind them are waterfalls, blossom and a distant pagoda.
On the reels, the scholar in a lilac cap and yellow robe is Xu Xian, and in our first screenshot three of him on line 6 pay 15. The lady in pale grey with an ornament in her hair is the White Snake herself, and the green-clad woman holding a snake is Xiaoqing. A blurred spin also shows an old white-bearded monk in orange, most likely Fahai.
The smaller symbols carry the story too. The brown jar with a red cloth lid holds realgar wine, the drink that forced Bai Suzhen back into snake form at the Dragon Boat Festival. The red-flowered paper umbrella recalls the rainy day the couple met. A painted tile of a tall pagoda at sunset is Leifeng Pagoda, where the monk finally imprisons her. Pink lotus flowers and a green jade pendant with a red tassel make up the rest.
The bet panel and what we can't see
The panel follows the Live22 pattern: Total Bet with plus and minus, Max Bet, Auto Spin, Fast and Spin, with little snakes curling round the Win box. All three shots bet 9, and the wins land on lines 6 and 8. A Luxury Mills badge sits where other Live22 games show a city name, and there's no row of Grand, Major, Minor and Mini meters.
The old page described a snake wild that grants a free re-spin, a side game paying instant coins, four progressive bonuses and wins paying both left to right and right to left. None of that appears in our three screenshots, so take it as unconfirmed. Both of our wins start from reel 1.
