Jing Shi Bai Nian, the Festive Lion slot, screen by screen
A Chinese New Year slot on 25 lines: a golden lion head as the wild, a red scroll scatter, free spins with a pick-two-pots bonus and a card gamble after wins.
Red lanterns, a temple roof along the top edge and a gold lion-dance head: this is a Chinese New Year slot from the first spin. The logo reads 金獅拜年 with FESTIVE LION underneath, which is the game the old site filed as Jing Shi Bai Nian. Eight screenshots survive, and together with the help pages they cover most of the game.
Reels, lines and bet
Five reels of three rows with 25 lines. The card ranks are drawn as tiles, a little like mahjong pieces. Our first screenshot has all 25 lines at 0.01, a total bet of 0.25 MPV, in the usual Sky777 bar with LINE, BET, TOTAL BET, WIN, DENOMINATION and BALANCE. The payline screen adds three rules: wins pay left to right, only the highest win on each line counts, and the scatter pays anywhere.
The pay table
The golden lion head marked Wild is the top symbol at 10,000 for five. It stands in for everything except the scatter and doubles every win it joins, so the pay table prints a second WILD column with the doubled figures. Next come a gold ingot and a laughing bald figure riding a gold coin, at 750 for five, then red lanterns at 400, and a plum blossom with mandarin oranges at 250. A and K pay 150, the other ranks 100.
The scatter is a red scroll with gold writing. It pays 2, 5, 20 or 500 times for two to five and opens the free spins.
Free spins
Three or more scrolls start the round with 8 free spins at x2. Before they play you choose 2 of 5 pots, each adding free spins, a bigger multiplier or both, up to 33 spins or x15 in total. Three more scatters during the round add 15 spins at the same multiplier, and the help page says that can keep happening. One of our screenshots shows two scrolls landing on a single line bet for a 0.02 MPV scatter win, one short of the feature.
The gamble
After a win a round Gamble button appears beside the reels. The card game behind it asks you to guess the colour of the next card for double, or its suit for four times, with a maximum of four rounds. It is optional, and each round can lose the whole win.
The old page mentioned a lion that expands over a reel and gives a respin. None of these screens shows that, so we leave it out.
